8/13/2004-SMT GOLF AND VICTOR SCHWAMKRUG AT THE TOP OF THE LEADER BOARD IN NATIONWIDE TOUR RANKINGS
OSWEGO, Ill. - The statistics have been calculated and published for the Nationwide Tour and SMT Golf Staff Professional Victor Schwamkrug is again at the top of the leader board in not one?but two Driving Categories. Schwamkrug currently holds the record for this years' Longest Drive at 404 yards, and is ranked second in Driving Average, with an amazing 324.2 yard average. Schwamkrug also ranks 2nd in Eagles per rounds played, which can again be attributed to Victors length off the tee with his SMT drivers. These statistics are calculated through the Cox Classic that was held this past weekend on August 8th in Omaha, Nebraska.

Victor Schwamkrug is unlike most of the players on the Nationwide Tour due to the fact that he carries two drivers in his bag during competition. When you can regularly hit the ball 400+ yards, sometimes you need a short driver for the holes you only need to hit it 300 yards for, commented Mike Tait, president of SMT Golf.

Victor carries both a 7 degree SMT Spectrum and a 10 degree SMT Shinnecock when he competes in PGA and Nationwide Tour events, said Tait. Imagine being able to hit driver, wedge into a 500+ yard Par 5 and have a chance at Eagle. With this new SMT Spectrum Driver in his hands, Victor can, and does regularly out there on Tour. We're very pleased with his performance and very proud to play a part in his accomplishments.

With hundreds of LDA and individual tour wins and 4 Re/Max World Long Drive Championships under its belt, SMT Golf quickly earned a reputation of making top quality drivers for the big hitters. This however wasn't what Mike Tait had in mind when he started making clubs years ago. Tait's intentions were to make clubs for golfers at all skill levels and that's exactly what he has done. It just so happens that the Long Drive competitors have fallen head over heels for SMT's lineup of drivers as well.

Whether you're at the top of the leader board in Driving Distance on The Nationwide Tour, like Victor Schwamkrug, or a 15 handicapper who just plays occasionally on the weekends, SMT has a driver that can help you hit the ball longer and straighter than anything else on the market right now.
